AI & Creativity: What Matters for Humans
Join WLC Linguistics, TESOL, and the Writing Studies Program for "AI & Creativity: What Matters for Humans" on Thursday, April 11th, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm in Gray Hall 130. The lecture features PROSE Award Finalist Dr. Naomi Baron on her latest publication, "Who Wrote This? How AI and the Lure of Efficiency Threaten Human Writing." This talk urges us as individuals and as communities to make conscious choices about the ways in which we collaborate with AI. The technology is here to stay. Baron shows us how to work with AI and how to spot where it risks diminishing the valuable cognitive and social benefits of being literate.
